Most designers are familiar with producing design as a service, but this can get draining or meaningless after many years of practice. However, it feels different if you are designing with a sense of purpose, and there is a bigger reason behind what you do. Designers who suffer from creative burnout can perhaps rethink their role as a designer and how they can allow their design to serve more than what it is, and to bring meaning and passion back into doing what they love. Kelley Cheng, a veteran designer in Singapore, shares her journey as a designer and her parallel role as a design activist.
