Writer, Actor and Director
Wrote and directed my first play – ‘Cycle’ – in 2005, at the age of 18, which won numerous State Awards.
In 2009, co-founded a theatre group named ‘Natak Company’ to produce
plays especially for the youth. Natak Company is widely regarded as one of the front-runners in youth theatre in India.
Wrote and directed a Marathi version of ‘Männerhort’ – a German play by
Kristof Magnusson.
Selected as one of the five people from across India for the late Mr. Vinod Doshi fellowship for recognition of significant work in the field of theatre.
Adapted and directed a play for children based on a short story by
renowned Russian writer Sergei Mikhalkov.
Won the Best Director’s award at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre
Awards for ‘Tichi 17 Prakarne’ – a Marathi adaptation of ‘Attempts on her life’ by Martin Crimp.
In 2011, was awarded the Damu Kenkre Award, given to one promising director from the State of Maharashtra.
Since 2011, have started reviving century old classic musical operas –
‘Sangeet Saunshaykallol’, Sangeet Manapman’ and ‘Sangeet
Saubhadra’using modern audio-visual technology.
In 2013, co-wrote a film in Hindi – ‘Nautanki Saala’. Forbes 30 under 30 India (2015) Forbes 30 under 30 Asia (2016)Directed ‘Amar Photo Studio’ – a play in Marathi which is a commercial and critical success.
